Speaking of which, I'd like to outline a trend which no one at NYLXS follows I'll call it the Adam Kosmin trend. Its a trend that does nothing more than fulfill ones own ego. Someone who is so self-rightous he believes that anything he does and says is beyond reproach or question. Omniscient to use a word. In the process he manages to pervert and twist words to serve his own purpose. He becomes so blind to his own message that he doesnt see anything past his own opinion. No actually scratch that, he follows someone elses message that he cant form his own opinion. Then when someone questions it that person is attacked by indirect insults.
I for one am glad I have a chance to be a part of NYLXS, I know NYLXS adheres to the same philosophy. But sometimes the words are used incorrectly, yet anyone at NYLXS will gladly take part in a normal debate without name calling. But when the name calling ensues NYLXS isnt shy to outright call someone an idiot. Not hide behind inflammatory statements statements. NYLXS, as far as I can see, doesnt pull any punches.
Lastly, NYLXS also knows that egos and thank you's dont put food on the table.
Like I keep saying, if Microsoft came out with something better than GNU/Linux I would go out and buy it. But they dont. If someone else see's that Microsoft makes a better product for them, so much the better. There are plenty of IT directors out there who dont care what the product is as long as it works. They couldnt care about the GPL or propretary. But that sort of mentality is more a reflection of their ignorance than their enlightenment.
Talk about selfish, Steve M
