Dear friends:
As everyone probibly knows, nothing is more important to me than the success and activities of NYLXS. And the friends and partners I've made with NYLXS have been, over the last 2 years, like members of my family, who I love deeply. We have scabbled, argued, feuded and worked hard together. Every time people think we're dead, we pull together again and again to pull off miracles.
This is the most giving, selfless organization I've ever been affiliated with.
Over the next month or so, on through to the new year, I'm just not going to be able to be able to by the kind of tireless organizational whip which everyones been accustomed to. Because of economic circumstances, I have available to me an unusual oppurtunity to work at high wages nearly 14 hours a day and 7 days a week. I am going to take advantage of this oppurtunity, because I have to recharge my finances after this aweful 2 years of depression which followed up the attach on New York of Septmeber 11th, 2001. This next month looks like I might be able to pull in an extra $16,000 in the next month.
the down side of that is that I'm locked behind a Pharmacy counter from 8:00AM to 11:PM almost every night.
Guys, I've seen increasing signs that under Michael's leadership, that NYLXS has matured to the point to be able to pick up the slack, plan and function. Please work together to achive our goals.
Two things in particular is the GNU/Linux One, NYLXS publications (possibly with the FSF Press), and setting up a new center of activity in Greenpoint with Joe Grastara.
I'll try to leave my contact info as people need me.
One a personal note, I need some help in the house. My bird can use some occasional company, and I have a few other things I need done. If someone wants to feed my bird during the day, and help me out, I'd be happy to pay them for their help.
Thanks
