Description: Senior Perl web / database programmer required to assist team in building e-commerce distribution and fulfillment systems, tuning code. The primary responsibilities for this job include porting existing CGI code to mod_perl or enabling CGI::Fast, and transferring that knowledge to the development team. A second phase of the project may require HTML::Mason to be enabled, so the ideal candidate would also possess that skillset as well. Must be able to demonstrate experience with high-volume transaction systems and provide references. Candidate must be personable and have experience with some minimal client interaction. Most importantly, the client must work well with the existing team. Must be able to provide examples of your work and ideally specify URLs. Senior candidates only. Recent experience with high-volume transaction systems required.
Required skills: CGI, CGI.pm specifically DBI Experience (MySQL and Oracle) Recent Experience with large-scale transaction systems. mod_perl HTML HTML::Mason SQL SOAP cron and job scheduling javascript
Desired skills: Nice to have, but not required ... MySQL Administration PL/SQL Development Query tuning Experience with CVS or other code management tools Apache Administration (Apache + SSL)
