He did NOT say that OpenOffice is as good as MS Office 97!
| Addressing several thousand attendees at the Worldwide Partner
| Conference, he took a swipe at Linux, open source and StarOffice,
| saying, "they simply accept the view that what they have is good enough.
| That view does not foster innovation. Being where we were with Office
| 1997 is not good enough for us," he said.
Hmm... Do you think he really said "Office 1997"?
Let's put on our thinking caps... What he actually said was that
Microsoft would not be content to stay where *IT* was with Office97.
He states that OpenOffice feels they are 'good enough', and have
lost the drive to innovation in their complacency. Nowhere does he
say that he feels OpenOffice is as good as Office 97.
He probably thinks OpenOffice is leagues behind Office 97.
