Open Source: Beyond Linux Open Source is more than Linux!! Linux is Open Source, but not all Open Source is Linux. Open Source includes applications that run on Windows as well as on Linux, such as: Open Office, an excellent suite including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software; MySQL, a database app; Plucker, a PDA application reviewed in the Sept. newsletter; GIMP, a photo editing application; and much much more. Come to this General meeting to learn about Open Source, what it includes, and what it offers you. There will be demos in the cafeteria, as well as presentations in the auditorium.
