A timeline...Well, first, I think we should have something like:
Nov 22 09:00 general session/short keynote/whathaveyou 10:00 Richard's speech 12:00 lunch break
13:30 first day open speaking session/workshop
Nov 23 10:00 open slot, GNOME telephony? :) 12:00 lunch 13:30 open slot, Accessibility would be nice
Nov 24 10:00 open slot, OpenOffice/GNOME plans? 12:00 lunch 13:30 open slot 15:00 Closing remarks
I suggested moving Richard's speech back to 10:00, because some people just wont make a 9:00 event, and anyway, I think we should have a "keynote"/event intro type thing before Richard's speech. Also, keep in mind the principle goal is not to have a heavy speaking event, but one principly where GNOME developers gather to meet in groups. As such, I would suggest putting what few speeches/general session type stuff we have in the pre-lunch and early afternoon hours.
I think we should also invite and encourage people to write papers on GNOME topics if they wish to, and distribute them or any software emerging from/introduced at the event on a cd at the close of the event. This would give it a more academic feel, and should be easy enough to do if attendance is light.
What do others think?
