No I'm not sympathizing with anyone, pirates or developers.
I'm saying that alot of these games cater to the reptilian aspect of humanity, kill or be killed thinking (or more accurately kill for food). The game developers know who they cater to and their hold on the end user is tenacious. Partly because of the mentality the shootem up games cater to.
I havent bought a game in I dont know how long and I havent pirated any games. I have been offered pirated copies and I refused on principle. Dont get me wrong I like Duke Nukem but I wont spend a penny on it because thats not where my priorities lie. It will be interesting to see what the next excuse game developers can come up with when their sales drop when pirating has been artificially curtailed. By artificially I mean intrusive government restrictions created in an attempt to control a society that is displeased with the products are offered by corporations. If someone truly likes something they wont have a problem spending the money to compensate the person/people who worked to create it.
I wasnt exaggerating the price of the games intentionally it was out of ignorance. I dont know what the average price is for a game for the PC is.
