This is not true. Everyone creates content, everywhere, all the time.
We all have the right to participate equally in our civilization according to our ability and capacity. This right is enshriened in the US Constitution in the 1,4 and 5th amendments. This is the lynch pin basis for the conception of Free Software.
People who create cultural artifacts, called by brain washed individuals with a horrible political agend as "Content", have no inhenent rights to the work in either a strictly anthropological sense, or a legal one. The public is the OWNER of all published works.
You must be confusing the comerical franshise of a Copyright Monopoly with a human right. the amalgamating of the two concepts, one a biological need and the basis of human civilization, and the other a legal privledge to foster more public works, misleads others into believing that copyright privledges are some kind of basic human right, like the right to private ownership of property or the freedom of speach. It is not.
In fact, the purpose of the GPL and Free Software is to assure the healthy free participation of individuals with the core informational systems which incresingly shape their living experience. In this regard, Free Software is pivotal for the support of a free civilization, whereas copyright plays no role in this whatsoever.
DRM is not possible with Free Software, as Linus pointed out in his email on this topic, since the PRIMARY KEY needs to be public.
Furthermore, DRM is a tool to COUNTER the liberty which indiviuals now enjoy with regard to the information and knowledge they own and possess. In this regard, it is not only counter to Free Software, but is harmful to the broader civilization which we now enjoy.
