This is also incorrect. DRM can be forced on public and requiring individuals to avoid promenent components of our civilization in order to avoid DRM is excatly how one would do this.
DRM is not an issue that can be solved within the limited confines of a market. It can no more be resolved through market forces than wipetapping, robbery or murder. Rapist will not stop rapeing do to a market condition, and DRM will not be prevented do to a market condition. This is especially true of a market of ideas and works of art which distributed entirely through a system of monopoly power granted under copyright.
If you REALLY want to try to solve the DRM problem within the Market, remove all the legal copyright protections in the current law, each of which forges a legal monopoly, and see what happens :).
