Point taken. So far the RIAA hasnt taken a direct overt stance against the common family unit. They have taken a stance against a weaker 'opponent' moslty single people and single parents one of whom lives in subsidized housing. All these legal actions leave me with the distinct impression that they are going 'under the radar' to avoid a press bonanza. I'm left with the distinct impression that the people directly involved in coordinating these legal actions are doing to further their own political stature.
Probably a more effective apporach would be to make a call for balance.
Still there has to be a way to send a signal that attacking the people who are barely making a living is unacceptable.
Going after a single mother with a 12 year old daughter who is a straight A student in a catholic school who live in subsidized housing and Orin Hatchs response that 'the parents should be aware of what their children are doing on their computers' does not send a positive signal about how the American democratic system is built.
If anyone has the Post article about when the mother first spoke to the press hold on to it. There is an interesting contrast to her reaction after she 'settled'.
