I could have made my reply much shorter, I did not mean to go into a lengthy discussion of what we were doing the past week in regard to the event. The short answer is that "yes", we do have commitment. The request to hold this year's GNOME development summit originally came from Tim Nay, who is the chair (president) of the GNOME foundation, along with assent of Miguel (Ximian/Novell), and has been confirmed to me by other GNOME board members as well over the past week.
