NYLXS Emergency Board Meeting June 8, 2003 Attendance: Peter Siegel, Joanne Cripps, Steve Milovidov, Akbar Pasha, Ruben Safir, Sunny Dubey, Robert Marino, Michael Richardson, Adam Kosmin
The Meeting was Chaired by President Michael Richardson
The following board member positions will be acknowledged until the next scheduled election: Robert Marino - Second Vice President Adam Kosmin - Recording Secretary Peter Siegel - Treasurer
Additionally, Joanne Cripps will serve as Assistant Librarian. > > Committee Issues: > - Robert Marino will take charge of the Educational Committee. > - The Finance committee has no owner. Ray will be asked to fill this void. > - Peter Siegel has offered to join the Journal Committee as a proof reader. > - The Tech Committee has been dissolved. > - Akbar Hasha will take charge of the newly established Web Committee. > - Adam Kosmin has joined the PR Committee. > - The Membership Committee has endorsed Michael Richardson's recommendation > that all members invest a minimum of 2 hours per quarter working on their > appropriate area of the NYLXS web site. > > Other issues: > - Board meetings are to be scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month. > - Steve Milovidov will take on the responsibility of archiving various NYLXS > content to video. This will include Inservices, business demos, and other > content. The project will be completed using only Free Software. > - A training video will be created based off the content of the GNU/Linux 1 > Class material. A tentative date for a dry run of the recording has been set > for the next Tech Nite. > - The NYLXS server will not be moved from its current location. Ruben Safir > will continue to administer the server. It has been decided that the recent > discussions concerning this issue where born out of poor communication > rather than issues of a technical nature. Going forward, NYLXS believes that > Akbar's responsibility over the web content will contribute to the diffusion > of this issue. In addition, NYLXS will continue to improve its internal > communications to help assure that this kind of confusion does not occur in > the future. Future discussions will address the likelihood of moving the > server to Kings Games. >
Akbar took on the website committee. We had a conversation on the relationship of the FSI and the Education Sub committee. We determined in order of Urgency things we needed to fix first, starting with Money, PR and then the FSI.
