Point of Order:
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Mailing list should not be moderated at all. Say what you will and when it gets too ridiculous, one of the group will definitely tell you to shut up and kill the thread". If everyone uses a little basic common sense and courtesy, all will be well!
Adam, you are confused. Its not easy to be banned. To the best of my knowledge, with the exception of Jay and Brett, no one has ever been banned from NYLXS. And all organizations have by-laws and charters which govern them otherwise you have a "free-for-all" condition existing. As far as censorship, if this organization employed censorship, half the posts on the mailing would not exist and a fair amount of its members would no longer be with the organization. If anything NYLXS is incredibly liberal in terms of what you can get away with and not get banned.
To reiterate, no email posts should be moderated but a little common sense (after last weeks posts, I know common courtesy is out) would be nice. You do not discuss Board matters on Hangout or cc: Hangout when discussing confidential matters (Yes, we actually do have one or two confidential threads going in the past, one of which was related to potential clients of the FSCC). Lastly you can literally openly disagree vigorously with anyone you like and/or to your hearts content. As to your comment below
"It seems to me that this really just means "Anything Ruben posts will not be censored""
does not stand up to empirical evidence. It seems your posts and Marco's posts were not rejected even though they were strongly worded (again, everyone has a right to their opinion. Opinions are like assholes, "Everyone has one{" :) not to mention I've sent some strong emails in my time as well.
Mike, Please refresh my memory (I know the answer but want to hear it from you), what is the status of NYLXS members dealing with NYFU? As I remember, NYLXS Board Members cannot occupy a seat on NYFU and vice versa.

It seems to me that this really just means "Anything Ruben posts will not be censored". Please understand that I have to take this view when I consider how easily one can be banned from the list as well as your claim that I am in breach of some NYLXS law which states that I am not allowed to interact with members of NYFU. Both of which, are forms of censorship. Both of which, I am intent on banning myself.
Ban the ban!
Adam
