Do you know what partition the kernel is on?

Good Morning,
I'm not able to boot my Slackware 9.0 install. It seems that the LILO boot is not loading correctly.
all I get when I reboot is the letters LI and the notebook goes into a coma.
BTW: I had previously installed Mandrake 8.0 on this notebook and it was running great. No boot issues or anything. I completely removed the old partitions and swap.
Details:
Hitachi Visionbook 5000 (model 5270) Pentium II MMX 32MB RAM (don't say a word! I'll order more) 2.7GB HDD no floppy, but I use a USB floppy sometimes
I made a large 2.1GB partition (bootable, type 83) and a 64MB swap partition
(type 82)
I don't know what to answer at the LILO config section... Maybe there's something else I need to do?
I'd like to give the Slackware distro a try, but if I can't figure this out,
I'll be returning to Mandrake or Suse...
RF
