If Microsoft had actually done what it is saying here, perhaps the world
would be a much nicer place to live in. It is because of this very stupid
statement and all previous stupid statements like this that I began
searching for an alternative to Windows in 1993.
"While the noncommercial model may lead to many flavors of software, getting
broad, consistent innovation requires coordination across many technology
components. In the event of needed enhancements or fixes, the Linux
development community, no matter how well intentioned, simply cannot advance
Linux the way we can--and must--innovate in Windows"
The writing is on the wall and it ain't coming down any time soon...
