It's probably a better time now, than most times to voice your concerns. But the board probably doesn't care. Shareholders might.
Here's an idea... institutional shareholders (pensions, insurance companies, etc.) have had some success throwing their weight around in boardrooms. If you can sell these same institutions on the reduced risk and economic advantages of Free and Open software, you'd have a powerful ally with unfettered access to decision-makers.
