Well, I noticed that the executive director of the FSF was there in normal clothing, and the director of FSF Europe, too.
The FSF does not approve of the way that conference was run, and therefore did not participate. Brad went as an individual, to meet other attendees. It does not indicate any support from the FSF for the conference practices.
The biggest news story from the conference was an announcement by Microsoft, about software that is not free and not even open source. You were had.
The next conference, in Europe, is to be called "free software and open source" I am told. That's a satisfactory handling of that issue. But I don't think I should participate if Microsoft will be invited to do anything other than participate in an explicitly adversarial debate.
