Well, I came in really late but there did seem to be alot of,
"I was coding lisp in '81 and blah blah"
coming from certain members of the audience. There was not much
practical information given out, but more comments like,
"lisp predates the whole Unix thing so it is normal that there
is not a good interface to the system."
Which leads one to wonder why if lisp is so wonderful, why has no one
been able to code up a posix compliant systems interface module in any
of the infinite variations of the language. There were many long
laundry lists of language variations, between scheme and clisp and
cmulisp, etc. etc. But I was kind of expecting that so I didn't find
that too surprising.
