Hello Alan. Your essentailly correct on this. Seth's methods are not efficient, and getting into the Congressional offices, and becoming familiar with Congressmen on the grassroots level is what works. The new NY Fair Use which Seth is now working for has not managed any real impact, but getting into offices and talking with grassroots support is bound to work over time.
Postests and handbilling does has a place, but only as a suplimemt to the real political work.
It's not so much lobbying, and real grassroots politics. Most people don't have the stomache for it, or the amount of work it takes. The talk in some circles is that they are building an army. Well, consider that in the real body politic it takes over 10,000 petition signatures to get on the ballot for Congress....and then weigh how organized you are and how big is your 'army'
I'll be coming down to DC tonight if you want to meet and talk.

<standing _outside_ with placards, we should be _inside_ talking to our representatives. I, in the 8th District of MD(Montgomery County), received a generic snail-mail flyer from Chris Van Hollen, our Rep. It showed him in colloquy with various _groups_. Why can we not organize -- on linux-pe, that's what it is for -- and arrange for 10 - 20 of us to meet with him in his office??? It should be easy to do, no? >> -- __________________________ Brooklyn Linux Solutions __________________________ DRM is THEFT - We are the STAKEHOLDERS http://fairuse.nylxs.com
