|
Selso should give a more detailed report, but in my job as Secretary
The FSEI met tonite and had a very sucessful meeting tonight.
I'm very sorry, but i forgot to get the full name of the gentleman from the Concord School, but we had several though conversations on what to present on April 29th to the Board of Education.
David Williams and Marco Scoffier is to work on a two fold ciriculum for Concord and for Public Education in General. The GNU/Linux 1 class is to be forked into two new programs. One version will be a Teachers Ciriculum and another is a student ciriculum. The student ciriculum will be tailored for a number of subjects, such as science and math.
The group agreed that educators do not adequately understand either how technology can help with traditional studies, or how the need for a seperate area of study in basic computer sciences.
For English studies and class work, a slashdot server is to be built for demonstration with the Board of Ed. Selso volunteered to build it by the deadline.
The group agreed to focus on a long term stratergy of digital integration in education, as well as stressing fundemental computer sciences. The education on the logical construction for Free Software is to be integrated into the program. The group compared the basis of Free Software developement needs to be taught as a scientist would teach the scientific method in all levels of science. It is the be the underlined current of all training and ciriculum.
