Geeze Ruben, I thought you were looking for a quick edit! Didn't give me much time, though.
Here it is anyway, for what it's worth:
April 9th, 2003 -- NYLXS OPENS BROOKLYN FREE SOFTWARE CENTER
NYLXS is pleased to announce the opening of New York's first GNU/Linux Free Software Education Center and Internet Cafe, in cooperation with Kings Games.
The Center is located at the intersection of Kings Highway and East 12th Street in Brooklyn, New York. NYLXS is providing six computers and is looking for donations of additional computer hardware and equipment. The brand new 80' x 50' facility has new carpets and is fully wired for Ethernet access.
The games room is upstairs, and downstairs are the offices of the Free Software Center. Computer rentals at Kings Games are $5.00 per hour, with a discount available for NYLXS members.
There will be an NYLXS Open House meeting on Monday, April 21st, featuring a public introduction of the NYLXS and its committees, and an opportunity to volunteer or join the organization.
Who: NYLXS - Kings Games What: Open House for new Membership Where: Kings Games, East 12th Street and Kings Highway, Brooklyn NY When: April 21st, 2003, 8:00PM until midnight
Directions: Kings Games is conveniently accessible from nearly anywhere in NYC. In Manhattan, take the Q diamond train to Kings Highway -- it's approximately a thirty minute ride from Herald Square. By car take the Belt Highway to Coney Island Avenue. Drive North to Kings Highway, then right to East 12th Street. Parking facilities are across the street and throughout the area.
About Kings Highway: The Business District on Kings Highway and Coney Island Avenue is one of the largest and most vibrant in New York City. With central access from the Brighton Line Subway, it features nightclubs, world class restaurants, plenty of parking, and Bus Line access from Canarsie, Mill Basin, Brighton Beach, Bay Ridge, Sheepshead Bay, Flatbush, Midwood and Gerritson Beach. An established shopping district, the neighborhood is home to traditional communities of Russians, Orthodox Jews, Chinese, Irish and more. The area is known for being particularly friendly and safe.
