Unfortunately the use of the term "state" defeats the original purpose behind the naming of NYFairUse. The idea was that this issue is important enough to warrant inclusiveness -- people in other cities and states could start their own Fair Use organizations, such as DCFairUse, LAFairUse or IllinoisFairUse for example.
The core elements of the name need to be a succinct description of the organization, with the New York (city or state) element being optional.
The "Alliance of Copyright Stakeholders", with or without reference to New York, abbreviates to something already in use: The Association of Convenience Stores.
