After checking today's mail, the Election Committee is prepared to
announce the result of the past week's 2003 NYLXS Elections.
>From a list of 32 eligible voting members 19 people participated,
resulting in a turnout of fractionally under 60%. Some members were
unavailable due to travel, some could not be contacted, and others chose
not to participate.
Below are the results:
PRESIDENT: Marco Scoffier
VICE PRESIDENT: Michael Richardson
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT: Evan Inker
TREASURER: Joe Maffia
SECOND TREASURER: Ray Connolly
RECORDING SECRETARY: Selso DaSilva & Joe Grastara
SECRETARY: Ruben Safir
The votes for Recording Secretary resulted in a three-way tie, with Ray,
Selso and Joe each receiving six votes. Ray was disqualified due to
being elected to the office of Second Treasurer. As there are no
guidelines for determining the winner of a tie, the NYLXS Board must
determine who will act as Recording Secretary for the next year.
The ballots and information regarding the elections will be given to the
NYLXS Board of Directors. The Election Committee wishes to thank
everyone who participated, and wishes the new officers good luck in
their offices and continued success to NYLXS.
