SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] change in policy
|
i'm thinking of a reply to redhat. they've really pissed me off.
this letter would be to jay novello, head of redhat global learing services. if you've got a moment, please have a look at it (feel free to change it or add to it) and let me know whether i can include the comments on this subject from the mailing list.
redhat's change in policy of certification is infuriating; particularly so in light of your prior stated policy which held that certifications did NOT expire. (your instructor made a point of differentiating this difference between redhat's policy and, for example, sun's, in my redhat "fast-track" rhce class.)
equally irritating is the fact that redhat's education division always seems to be trying to sell me something. but provides very little to those of us rhce's who are actually out on the street everyday selling, supporting, and advocating your product.
we all know that times are tough economically, but this attempt to gouge the rhce's is cannibalistic. if you eat the porters, no one is going to be around to carry the tents.
i've attached some comments from one of the more prominent nyc linux advocacy groups and suggest that you review them. you're in danger of being lumped in with microsoft as another company that can't be trusted.
