the MTA - on bus and subway fares alone - takes in about $14,000,000 a
day - 5 days a week
(weekends are a bit slower) - with the fare hike they'll be taking in
another $5,000,000 -
a day - this does not include the tolls, the LIRR, the DMV surcharges
etc etc -
$20,000,000 + a day and they can't keep the choo-choo trains clean and
on time.

keep an open mind. the huge bulk of the money that comes into the city's
coffers is via corporate business taxes.
we know all about the terrible situation of the nyc economy and business

no one likes belt tightening but if anyone can manage through it it is

Rudy presided over the greatest growth the city has ever seen. The last
time the city was faced with this environment we were on the brink of
collapse with the sate and feds threatening to come in and take over
the city!
