You cced that to Weiners office.
This the exact type of thing you did when you were staying in my
home. You were activy harming NY Fair Use, and NYLXS, just as you
have here, and this caused me to reach out to Brett to take over the
day to day operations of NY Fair Use, and to toss you out of my house.
Then you and Brett proceeded to undermine NYLXS and NY Fair Use.
If you interfere directly with the actions of NYLXS, or NY Fair Use
I will have to ban you again from the list. Your already banned from
NYLXS as an organization, but I made an acception to the mailing list
at the request of specific members of NYLXS. Your welcome to make whatever
pleas you want here, but you will not interupt the work of NYLXS, or any
of it's sub-comittees such as New Yorkers for Fair Use. If you do that,
you will be banned.
As for your wack the mole strategy, it is without merit. I'm focusing,
(AS USUAL) on our Congressional representitve. You have in the past,
and continue, to directly undermine that effort in a direct means.
In addition, if you felt so strongly about pursueing a stratergy different
from NY Fair Use, it would have been proper for you to create another
organization, and not actively try to destroy NY Fair Use.
No announcements are in the archives about any resignation. There was
no such announcement. At the time you were increasing my personal stress,
while living in my house, with your increasing personel attacks and
power grab, your attacks on NY Fair Use were so great, that I looked for
someone else to work with the different factions which you encouraged in
NY Fair Use at that time, and I put my trust in Brett, so I could focus
emotional energy on building NYLXS. Just as you attempted to pressure Marco,
and still do, you badgered Brett to no end.
But you should know the conversation I had with Brett when I asked him to
take over the day to day operations of NY Fair Use.
Ruben to Brett: Brett, Jay and Seth are driving me nuts with NY Fair Use.
When we cam back from Washington, he started to take control of the
organization, and is having secret meeting on my phone with Seth.
I walked into the house once and caught the end of the conversation, and Jay
hangs ups, while sitting in my office and says, "....that's revolutionary
disipline, Oh, I have to go, and we'll talk later Seth" And I asked him if
that was Seth Johnson, and he said, yes. So I asked him for his home phone
number, but he said he couldn't give it to me. So I told him, like hell, your
staying in my house, how can you act like that in my own home.
Brett: Well, that's what happens when you work with crazy people like Jay
and Kevin.
Ruben: Jay is not crazy and is quite brilent. But in this case, he's driving
me nuts. Listen, you claim to be the co-founder of NY Fair Use. Why don't
you take over the day to day operations of NY Fair Use. Right now, Jay is
screwing up our action with the DOC by agreeing to a private meeting with the
DOC and inviting every organization under the sun to participate. These
other groups are going to screw up our message an reduce our politcal impact.
Brett: We'll that's why I'm reluctant to take over NY Fair Use. Nobody
has the practical political experience you have.
Ruben: Brett, don't worry about that. I'll be right here and direct the
stratergy. I just need someone to take the heat off my shoulders before
I have a nervous breakdown and to work on NYLXS.
Brett: OK Ruben, but I think you would do better.
Ruben: Thanks Brett. I'm going to redirect Seth and Jay to you now. This
will give me breathing room.
This was the understanding between me and Brett. The result was you turning
NY Fair Use UPSIDE DOWN.
And I focused on NYLXS, and it's been built, with no help from You or Brett,
into a vibrant, and functioning, Democratically run organzation, this the
same template that was originally designed for NY Fair Use. NY Fair Use
has continued throughout to be me personal polital effort with others as
they wanted to help, and when they wanted to help. And since it wasn't
capable of formulating a Democratic structure, it is now folded into the
structure of NYLXS, where it's politcal committee was created waiting for it
to come home ALL THE TIME.
Now that my priminary work with NYLXS is done, it's now a strong, vibrant,
pro-active organization, which can withstand abuses thrown at it by people
like you and Brett, I'm going back to nail down the work I was previous
interupted in, important work for The Free Software Communty. A grass
roots political effort, completely different in its very nature from the
stupid and useless stuff you've been doing with your band of wanabees.
And pardon me Jay, but your words over the last few weeks makes it fairly
clear that anything you say is tainted and has numeruous lies. Your
hardly a person anyone whos words can be trusted. You repeately put your
ego above the good of the group.
Our board if fairly ticked off at this junction with your assualt at the
organization and it's membership. I wouldn't spit at the bear.
In addition, let me blame you for contributing to the worsoning
situation in the IP Sub-committee which is the only target worth
attacking, since it is the target that responds to VOTES, and has
authority over all the other bodies invovled. You let Weiner off the
hook when we had been working with his office.. I think your just to
selfish to understand this, and it will take weeks to under your damage to
the cause.
I wouldin't keep pounding, BTW, on Marco. He's not Brett. He's earned the
trust of NYLXS because he understands the importance of the Democratic
Process, will protect the integrety of NYLXS and our sub-committees
every bit as much as me, Vinnie, Joe Grastara and others.
Unlike you, he understands proper leadership, and will likely be intrusted
with it through election. Your pounding on him, a stratergy which has
worked with other organizations without a vigorous Democratic process,
will not work with NYLXS. We now have 3 offers for funding of over
$30,000 to defend ourselves against you, and an elected board to oversee
the use of those funds.
We've offered a fair deal to settle this dispute with you and Brett. You
have both refused to even sit down for binding atribtration on these issues.
My advice to you as a friend who really cares about your wellbeing,
is that you do everything possible to convince Brett to trade NYLXS.org
for the rights to use NY Fair Use, which was created by me and is now part
of NYLXS, Inc.
If not, you will continue to hurt the broader Free Software community and
Digital Rights Movement for the good of you own EGO.
