SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] DRM HEaring, call for witnesses
|
I'm the leader and founder of NY Fair Use, a grassroots organization concerned about govenment infringment of private ownership of electonic information in the digital age. We are highly distressed about the course congress has taken in regards to electronic media and individual property rights. We've met with the Department of Commerce on these issues and tried to work through Congressman Weiners office to become witnesses for your hearing.
Congressman, as Chairman of the house sub-committee for the internet and Intellecual Property, we are asking to be included in this discussion. You are not getting a fair picture of either the long term stakes the present course, nor the concerns of the public.
Please include us on the Witness list for the Oversight hearing on Copyright Piracy Prevention and the Broadcast Flag. on March 6th this week. It is time to allow the public in on this discussion. Dispite being published on this issue multiple times, it seems the committee refuses to allow a balenced presentation of the facts and legal issues.
