Now that I have a minute to wite, and after the minutes have been posted, I want to say that anyone who missed last nights board meeting, to have seen NYLXS actually function, to give and take, and to ingnite the spirit of Freedom and Demcracy in action, as we worked through tough compromises and inportant decision makes, witnesses truly a beautiful thing,
Over the last few months I've watched NYLXS truly mature as a stable institution, and I'm now looking forward even more than ever to see year two of NYLXS, and it's children organizations, the FSI, the FCSS, the NY Free Software Schools program, and NY Fair Use to go under a new leadership and with reinvigorated vision.
Going into las nights meeting, I had doubts about the the outcome, but the absolute solid dedication to the Democratic process made for exciting and suprising compomises and proposals, and truly creative problem solving. We walk into the meeting is somewhat disaccord, but we walked out as a brotherhood and united due to the process or Democracy, and the openess of members.
This organization, I must admit, has suprised me in how it has come together, and is stronger today than at any other time, and it continues to grow stronger every month, because the membership cares, and functions in Freedom.
I'll have the boards mailing list up this weekend for the full scope of findings of facts.
I personally feel a burden lifted from my shoulders because I finally have confindence in that this group can work within our the framework of our charter, and that the charter is well written and well concieved, and that we are all dedicated to it's structure, as well as our goals. In fact, the two are linked. We are Free because of our charter. And our goals are for Freedom which is was the cause of our Charter.
NYLXS is more ground breaking than people yet releaze, and I believe that in time, people will look back at what NYLXS does, and how it conducts business, and atrbitute our efforts as what drives Digital Rights, and Empowerment through digital systems into the coming decades.
