BTW, NY Fair Use was not set up as a democracy, because the attempt early on prevented it from becoming one. Folding it into NYLXS finally gives it the responsible leadership it always needed, based a participartory membership rights.
The reason the split occurred was the failure to develop that needed aspect of it, and because it had no charter. These things were corrected in NYLXS. And it gives a steadiness to the organizations funding and work.
As for this:
<It seems malicious. But it is the only possible weapon he has against Ruben's attacks. Ruben has been publicly slamming those two for weeks and for what? >>
This is insulting.
The takeover of the domain preceded the the events with NY Fair Use.
Brett has done this before to people, and will likely do it again. His refusal to givve up the .org domain is his desire to dominate NYLXS in the same way he wanted to pull the rug out of NY Fair Use.
