I am exhausted by discussing this.
So much so that I chose not to come to the meeting tonight.
I have already suffered two explosions by Ruben when I hinted that I
did not necessarily believe him just because he yells really loudly.
I would like to point out that Brett has been blackhole routed from the
NYLXS servers for at least a couple of months, so there is little hope
that any of us can get his version of events, and now Jay has been
blocked from posting to hangout. Both of these acts have been
individual decisions by Ruben, as was the mail bombing of the wwwacs
list which got us knocked off the net last year.
While I think it is important and efficient that the president act on
his own in some instances, I think a strong involved board is the only
way of maintaining any semblance of democracy.
While Ruben's brash actions are sometimes exactly what is needed for
bringing an important point to light (such as this past week with the
egovos), they can unchecked leave many people with serious reservations
about participating in this group. And thus deprive NYLXS of what it
needs most: active members and a strong board.
I call to stop the censure of Brett and Jay, at least to get their side
of the story. I ask to stop the allegations that they are going to
attack a meeting and that the added security of a bouncer or security
guard is needed to protect our meetings from them.
At the same time I fear the scene of a confrontation between these three
parties. I saw Ruben explode at the King's James install feast, as well
as this past Sunday, and on the phone recently when I had first
challenged him on this.
The more I become involved in this organisation, the more its actions
reflect upon me. I cannot continue to function in this organisation with
good heart and conscience until these issues have been cleared up.
