The problem with the Slashdot article is that the majority of people who comment don't bother to read about the topic. The person who posted it put it in the form of a "Gee, is this fair of them to be mean to poor Mr. Stanco?" topic, and then I see hundreds of posts about how noble people should be and how easy it is to beat M$.
Considering that many of the participants aren't attached to Free Software or Open Source, I suppose it is to be expected. The bulk of these folks seem to be moderating their friends up, so it's all a rosy world of free debate and fairness in their eyes.
