I have copied from their web page the goals of the conference and the list of speakers (not yet organized into sessions). After reviewing the material, do you really think that the presence of one speaker from Microsoft and another a known Microsoft shill (who, IIRC appeared in a panel session debate at the last conference) blemishes the conference badly enough to turn it from real advocacy to weak advocacy?
The apparant acceptance of the idea that it is unfair to advocate free software without giving Microsoft a chance to present its widely-heard "opposing view"--while no such constraint is applied to them in their events--is sufficient to do that. I encourage everyone speaking at the confernce to rebuke the organizers loud and clear for letting our community down by accepting this.
Activism is not neutrality. Take your pick, but if you claim to be both at once, we will point out the contradiction to the public.
