Yes - We will be able to even bring our own equiptment in if we get a working relationship, or even move the server there.
But this is a long view, one thing at a time.

I'm not in favor of this because the students need to work the systems over multiple classes, and I want them to take pocession of the machines.
This is part of the educational process, to discover what reall ownership means.

I don't think cost, at this point, is the major stumbling block, in fact, I've thought that if we change $2000 a class, we would get more people.

That's the machine we are now using for the classes. We can build the machines cost into the program directly and just make the GNU Linux 1/Unix 1/ Perl 1/ Perl 2 ONE purchase of $1400. (and they get to keep the machine)
