Cascading Style Sheets, CSS, work well if they are use properly. If the ones for Fairuse are like the ones for NYLXS then they are probably a bit convaluted and heavy.
The browser display is another issue, fonts and spacing are weighted differently from operating systems ad can appear to make things visually different. This will hold true even more if you are using fonts that are not specific to the OS or loaded on the machine.
