...What have I done? I joined and donated some money to EFF and have filled in a few of those fax your congressmen forms on some issues (a small start, but at least a start). What are others doing?

Protested the DMCA in Washington with NYLUG Testified on the DMCA to the Copyright Office Protested the DeCSS Trial Started NY Fair Use Protest for 12 weeks against the Dmitry Skylov Protest Left my job in Protest (in part) at NYU Dental School when they implimented books which timed themselves out Organized the "Save the Libraries" Campain which gathered over 600 signatures in the Congressional District of Tony Weiner Interviewed with NYU Alumi Magazine on the issue Published 3 Articles in the Linux Journal Founded a Free Software School to Fund the Political Activites of NY Fair Use Lead the trip to Washington DC to congfront the Department of Cemmerce on DRM. Thought up the term "DRM is Theft" and We are the Stakeholders Allied NY Fair Use with the FSF on this issue Started to Organized in Cobbles District and Berman's District to put local pressure on those representitves Lead a second trip too visit Wiener in DC Stayed in constanct (daily) contact with our congressional leaders in the IP Sub-committtee in the house Met with Laywers to write a Fair use Bill Presented a speach in France on the issue called "The Bigger Tent" Raised the issue on the NYLXS Radio Show BEcause extremely versed in the legalitity of the issue Verbally confronted Pat Shroeder at a meeting for Digital Publshing in Brooklyn. Developed a constituency on the issue at home.
Off the top of my head.
BTW - many members of NYLXS gave just as much on this issue and others concerning Free Software.
