SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] LaGuardia Demo: Nailing down the program
|
Folks,
The schedule is evolving rapidly. Reuben wants to add a session on Accounting Applications and Cryptography.
On my end, I've learned that we can make the demo significantly more appealing to Non-profits by including a session at the end of the day that would be a "non-profit round up" where folks from that community could share some ideas. The culture of non-profits generally, and the same goes for the non-profit technology folks, is that they have a strong need to process and share ideas, concerns, etc. I want to run that session, but in light of the fact that the number of technical sessions is burgeoning and we have limited space availability, I prompose that I forego the web-based collaboration models session and make that space available to Ruben to do the Accounting and Cryptography session.
Revised reschedule is below.
Again, we need to get confirmations from the following people:
Total Cost of Ownership (anyone?) Hardware Re-use Case Studes (Andrew?) Closing Remakrs (Jay?) Open Office (Diane?)
Reuben, could you please confirm with Jay and Diane? I'll get back to you all on TCO and Andrew, later today.
GENERAL SESSIONS: 1 Introduction Open Source and Free Software (Ruben) 2 The Open Source/Free Software Road Map (Phil) 3 Total Cost of Ownership models (speaker TBD) 4 Hardware Reuse case-studies and models (Andrew Williams ???) 5 Round-up for non-profits (Phil) 6 Closing Remarks and Rallying Cry (Jay Sulzberger ???)
TECHNICAL SESSIONS 6 X, Linux Desktops, Window Managers (Jonathan Jacobs) 7 Open Office Tutorial (Diane?) 8 X Terminal (Brett) 9 Accounting and Cryptography (Ruben) 10 Data Base Tools (Ruben) 11 Ximian Evolution email client and PGP (Kevin)
