point 1.Money is the lease of our problems whether we have any or not the other problems will still pervade the group(s).
point 2.Our membership is too low for what is being asked of it. (burnout)
point 3.If we cannot be found on the web we might as well go home.
point 4.It helps if we all are here for the same goal. I do not think we are. WHAT IS THE GOAL ANYWAY? (There is a story about a train trouble shooter who was sent to find out why a section of track was taking a long time to lay. When asked the foreman of the track layers said we are laying track so the train can travel, on it. one worker said I am here because I need the job. another workers said I needed to get away from my wife. the third worker said I wanted to hangout with my friends. The fourth worker said foods good. and so on. When the trouble shooter finally got everyone to agree that they were there to lay the track the track got laid very quickly. point 4A. What methods are to be used to achieve a more solid organization?

Your 4 points I agree with but I think they are in reverse order. -----Original Message----- From: Jay Sulzberger [mailto:jays-at-panix.com] Sent: Friday, August 09, 2002 3:53 PM To: Michael Richardson Cc: 'fairuse-at-mrbrklyn.com'; Joe Grastara; hangout-at-www2.mrbrklyn.com; fairuse-at-www2.mrbrklyn.com; Jay Sulzberger Subject: RE: [fairuse] Re: [hangout] Organization and Achiving Goals

I do not think the proposed range of NYLXS too broad. I believe that the broad strategy of NYLXS is sound. I also believe that the present problems are minor, but real. I believe that NYLXS will weather the present squalls. But effective action must be taken. That means that methods which have not worked should be identified and not used any more. Methods that have worked should be identified and used, if appropriate.
NYLXS needs:
1. money
2. members
3. a fine Net connection
4. a bit more solid organization
NYLXS can do stuff in its present state, but not as much as it should be doing.
NYLXSERS! DO NOT DESPAIR! WE WILL FIGHT AND WE WILL WIN!
