SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] Full Schedule of August 2002 Free Software Institute Classes
|
Classes Start Today, but if you cannot make the first class there will be a special make up class.
Tuesday 6 August 2002 FSI classes begin. These are mostly upper level classes which students who have taken introductory classes should look to get involved with. Also, if you are new to FSI and you know a little *n*x and want to learn more, these advanced classes are for you. Unix2 is especially nice since it's being taught be Brett Wynkoop, who is a a master of Unix, a designer of Internet mail systems, a great instructor, and knows shell scripting in and out.
Shell Scripting is not to be ignored as a tool for work or for the understanding of basic Unix Systems. Marco's Unix1 Class is at R&M instead of Brooklyn and is a good opportunity for those who can't make the trip to Brooklyn. Perl 2 is at Asha, all Perl 1 students are urged to complete your perl sequence. GNU Linux 2 is also starting, with much detailed system information, and the backbone to the advanced program of the FSI.
Now is the time to take these classes. Don't hesitate. Prices are right and we have a great team of Programmer Teachers.
We might get lucky and get Richard Stallman to give a single Class.
Full schedule of FSI classes below.
Ruben
addendum by Jay Sulzberger:
There is also some danger that I, Jay Sulzberger, may interrupt any class at any time and rant about Kleene's theorem on finite state automata and regular expressions, the not widely understood benefits of S expressions, and the cluster of results on database schemata, Boolean algebras, entropy, symplectic fibrations, functional programming, and distributed computation.
