Hi all -
I threw together a short letter below in response to Jay's email regarding Senate Bill S.2395. Both Senator Clinton and Schumer have email webforms on their websites. Their sites are: clinton.senate.gov and schumer.senate.gov. They both have contact sections. Please feel free to copy and paste the letter.
Cheers - Matt
Dear Senator:
I am writing with regards to Senate Bill S.2395. This bill, if passed, would strengthen those provisions of the DMCA which outlaw the distribution of DVD playing software that runs under a free operating system such as Linux or FreeBSD. This part of the general attack against the people's right to use their computers in the privacy of their own homes as they see fit, and their right to make and sell programs to others. I strongly urge you to vote against this provision.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
