Here is why companies are switching to Linux- good 'ole capitalism. Here is an excellent walkthru of the motives if you havent seen it already: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/StrategyLetterV.html

I'm not attacking people making money use FSF/linux/etc tools; I myself and writing software that's running on linux machines to get my bread right now.
I was just whining about people complimenting companies who are doing things like this because the companies are doing it for their sake, not anyone else's, but some people it sound like peace on earth is at hand
It's kindof like (but not really) a tyrannical government switching from using violence to provide rule to using ..ah, well some other tactic which seems good but is still motivated by the same desires (sorry I've been up >30 hours can't write well).
Yeah I'm being overly harsh
basically I'm trying to say, this is of course a victory, but these are kinda transient..
I look forward to linux's position in some of these new fields that it is sweeping into (this is one, I think solutions based on clustering is another
at the moment) settling into them for a while so its position is more solid.
but yes of course you're right, acceptance is acceptance

I'm simply sick of companies using but not giving back.. we need the help!
