Join us for a stimulating and enlightening discussion as Lawrence Klein, Esq., Chairman of the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art will be discussing legal issues relating to creation of the museum, attaining not-for-profit status, working with government agencies, and intellectual property issues relating to obtaining and displaying works of comic and cartoon art. Also joining us will be cartoonist Ted Rall.
Lawrence Klein, Esq. specializes in corporate, technology, and intellectual property issues for high-technology companies. Currently, Lawrence serves on the Executive Board of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Alumni Association, and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York County Lawyers' Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
The newly-formed Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is dedicated to the collection, preservation, study, education, and display of comic and cartoon art. Its mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of comic and cartoon art as well as to detail and discuss the artistic, cultural, and historical impact of "the world's most popular art form." The museum features animation, anime, cartoons, comic books, comic strips, gag cartoons, humorous illustration, illustration, political illustration, editorial cartoons, caricature, graphic novels, sports cartoons, and computer-generated art.
