SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] adieu (for the summer)
|
Friends,
It's been a great few months. Recounting everything we've done to people who've asked (and some who haven't), really puts things in perspective. 8 months now. It's truly impressive, and only puts more of a fire in my gut to do more.
I'm going to be taking the next couple of months off for the summer. I leave Tuesday. I'm going to get some good time in to relax and spend with my friends and family. I may write in from time to time, but will most likely not be near a networked computer until August.
You've really been incredible, and it's been a pleasure working with you. I'm glad to consider many of you not just collaborators in this struggle and campaign, but friends.
There are still a number of things that can be done over the summer. And there is no limit afterward. There are a number of things I'd like to start when I get back. You guys have been doing a great job, keep it up.
Wanting to leave things with the classes a little tidied up, at least enough to make it easier to work with, I've added an extra round to the Fall-Winter class schedule. That should take us through 2 rounds of the GNU/Linux and Perl classes. In my home directory, there is a folder entitled contacts. It's pretty messy, but basically, there are a number of contacts there to begin working on. We need a lot more press contacts, and information on where and when to submit community events. There are also some numbers I have been calling over the last couple of weeks. Feel free to tidy these up and add to them as is necessary. It's just a beginning, and I'll be editing it a bit more before I leave.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer!
I'll see in August!
- Paul Roriguez
