SUBJECT | Re: [hangout] classes and such
|
I haven't met all the membership yet and am new to the organization. It's not my place. It needs to be done by someone who knows everyone, and has good relationships with everyone. Someone who is trusted to be relied on, and is known to have good intentions for the organization. My confrontational style tends to get me in trouble, and isn't so good for maintaining relationships. Whoever does do this (and whoever gets "yelled at") for missing deadlines needs to keep in mind that this is being done to make important publishing deadlines, and is nothing against them. The trick by the Sergeant At Arms is going to be to enforce a strict deadline, without losing participation because of the enforcement. But someone has to do it.
Lack of space, and other issues mentioned, is no excuse. Get the space. Get the other issues resolved. What I am trying to open you eyes to is the value and effectiveness of free advertising that is being lost because of the failure to schedule things when they should be scheduled. That value includes the actual cost of comparable advertising, the supply/lack of bodies for the classes, the awareness of the organization that the advertising brings, and so much more. More bodies for the classes brings more volunteers to do the work on advertising, which brings more bodies.
On the tables, I haven't submitted the invoice yet. I'll do that at the next meeting/class/board meeting/etc.
