SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] Symantec Website

I seem to be getting e-mail from people I don't know mentioning the Klez.E worm. So I went to the Symantic (Norton Antivirus) website to read up on the virus and at the end of their definition they state the Operating Systems that are affected (all Windows variants) and those not affected (Macintosh).
I was a little bit miffed by the exclusion of Linux from the list of non-affected Operating Systems. So I wrote Symantec a suggestion that they give us the status of Linux OS as well especially since the market share must be as big, if not bigger than the Mac OS market share. Maybe we should start a campaign to the virus companies to get them to mention that Linux doesn't have the virus issues that Windows/Outlook has.
Also, I hate running anti-virus software because it wreaks havoc with Windows, yet now I can't be sure whether my windows machine has that dumb virus without running some sort of virus scan. It may be time to convert my last Windows machine to Linux. I have a lot of clients who require Word documents, but Open Office 1.0 seems to be working very well with regard to Word documents and I always have my Mac OS 9.1 which also works well with Word.
So good bye Windows, I won't miss you.
Kevin
