well, the operating system's name IS gnu/linux, because it is a combination of the two creations "the gnu system" and "linux".
the "gnu" system actually predates the development of "linux" by a decade or so. much of what you think of as "linux" was actually conceived before "linux" existed.
that the "gnu" system was there, and available for combination with the "linux" kernel enabled the operating system that you wish to call "linux" today. and "linux" enabled "gnu" to become fully operational.
the important thing is that it is a happy and fortunate thing for all of us that the "marriage" took place.
in light of the above, i wish you'd reconsider your refusal to refer to it as "gnu/linux". refusing to call the operating system gnu/linux is to deny the existence and contribution of one of the pillars of its foundation. i don't think that is something you would do intentionally.
