|
OK
It's 3AM and I have nothing better to do but think about NYLXS and the NYLXS Team.
I want to say to publically that NYLXS is the best team of volunteers and workers in NYC, if not the nation, and everyone should be very proud of themselves. Looking back on the accomplishements of our group since we started in November, you guys have been numbing.
Individualy, I want everyone to know about Paul Rodriguez.
Paul has worked up into being our elected Vice-President. He has worked presistantly as my right hand leading the Free Software institute's developement as the leading source in NYC for Free Software computing education, scheduling classes, working with students, and promoting NYLXS around the Tri-State area. Paul has been with us to Washington, handing out flyers in the dead winter, and at almost every important even.
Also - note the efforts of Maro Stoffer. Marco, the instructor for our Unix 1 class, has brought multi-media to Free Software, patiently working with new members, making everyone feel warm and productive in NYLXS. Marco has been developing into a special new kind of Free Software leader for the coming decade.
Michael Richardson, never does anyone give so much of himself to the study and work of Free Software. He is the ultimate Mr Reliable, Journal Master, and friend of all. Mike is first to volunteer and last to leave.
Our Friend and PR Hero, Joe Grastara, the only member who can yell louder than me, lives wlife with gusto and carries the Free Software, GNU/Linux activism in his heart, better than anyone I've ever met. My soul mate, when Big Joe moves, everyone follows!
Rich Weinberg, the constant challege to our plans, forcing us to stay focused on the task, always standing with us when chips are down, Rich fills the most critical needs, every time he's called upon.
John Bobber: He is just everywhere, doing everything from Journal editing, web pages, and flyer handouts. John is alway where the action is at...
Joe Maffia - Treasurer and doner of classroom space.
Liz Arum - Web Designer and friend...
As we move forward in the coming weeks, we are going to be picking up the pace, yet again, with our first Demo/Expo, start of the Radio Show, and as we position for permanent space, we have new members stepping into the from:
Watch these coming stars, they are ready to have a huge impact on our movement and to help us reshape what Free Software organizations can do AGAIN:
John Jacobs: Mature expereince, he is ready to break open on the NY Linux Scene with his work in business planning and business desktop conversions
Dustin P: Dustin has quitly taken in events and is ready to have his first greeat impact leading the Amfar initiative.
Bret Wynkoop: Radio Technicial, lecturer and Network support
Ray C - My Radio and TV!
Jeanne Thewell: Our new drafter of our Fair Use Bill and Minority Affairs officer...
Carlos Arena, MrV, Alex Chan and others are first coming onto their own. And I want to make sure to give a quality thank you to Kevin Millani and Kevin Mark, and Jay Schulzburg!!!
Thanks EVERYONE, and let's keep up the good work. As I'm reading the tea leaves, these next 2 months are going to propel us to places, no GLUG has been before!
Ruben
