SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] classes
|
I've sent out a proposed class schedule for the next few months.
We really do need to have our classes scheduled at least two to three months in advance so that we don't fall behind, and so that people can plan around them. Particularly over the summer we need to push our summer classes.
I'd like to get out and start fliering next week. We're going to need one flier printed for each of the entry level classes, and one flier with class dates and descriptions. I'll fix this schedule to include August as well.
Some things you'll notice about the schedule:
1) We need to get out fliering, emailing, and listing, to promote this class starting Monday. Linux 1 class is still on for May 15th, and the Unix 1 class is May 9th! I've put a Unix 1 class starting next week. This may or may not be realistic. I need to speak to everyone coming out of the Linux 1 class. The way the schedule works, Marco has a lot of flexibility on choosing dates for the class.
2) I'm not listing any locations for the classes. As these may change, the directions read to simply to email me.
3) Unix 2 starts right after the end of the first Linux 2 class. No hard dates are set for this class because around this time we start to run into scheduling issues. Ruben has been incredibly generous with his time. We have him booked up every night of the week. We're going to have to have some new teachers trained by around the 4th week of July in order to teach all of the classes we want to teach. We want to continue to run Linux 1, Unix 1, Linux 2, Perl 1, and Perl 2 through this time, but we also need to start running our Unix 2, Database Programming, and Introduction to Networking classes.
