SUBJECT | Re: [hangout] Stallman mentions NYLXS at Moglen talk at nyu

I thought I read in a previous email that it's not possible to send email to hangout unless the individual is part of the mailing list? This was in an email recently about someone else sending info, someone bringing up the issue of not being able to send mail to hangout, and someone answering that the email was possibly being relayed by someone on the list. I think it had to do with someone at R&M looking for Linux training.
So is it possible for the public to send mail to hangout? I have been promoting NYLXS, and have been suggesting to writers, computer equipment refurbishing/donating companies and others strategic to supporting Linux or converting Windows to Linux users to email hangout for more info on the group or help on an issue. I stopped using hangout when I read that email, and used my email instead, which may carry less weight.
