SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] Sendmail Configuration
|
I recently got involved with an exciting project called the Harlem Small Business Initiative, which is being co-sponsored by the William J. Clinton Foundation (yes, the former President), Booz Allen Hamilton, Black MBA Association, and possibly one other group.
Teams of consultants are helping 8 small businesses in Harlem to improve their business. The team I am on just had its first meeting last week and in order to maintain some control over the documents that would be shared amongst team members (from many different companies) they were considering using Yahoo Groups. I have since implemented PHPGroupware with the domain harlemsbi.org. I would also like to set up e-mail and a list serv for the team.
This brings me to the real point of this e-mail. I have never set up an e-mail server before, and even with all of the books I have on the subject, I am not sure I can get it figured out in a timely manner without some guidance.
Is there anybody available that would be interested in helping me with this project? I would very much appreciate the wisdom of a seasoned veteran, because I have very little experience and just enough knowledge to be dangerous.
I would like to add that the use of Open Source software in an initiative like this has a far reaching impact because there are consultants and senior executives from a wide assortment of companies who will be using the software. Also, the project is a pet project of former President Clinton so it could possibly lead to more recognition of the use of Open Source Software in the government sector.
Regards,
Kevin
P.S. I should be making it to the meeting at CUNY and would be open to talking about how open source technology (PHPGroupware, Linux, Apache, MySQL, et al) is helping the Harlem Small Business Initiative.
