Actually, I believe that things are better than they were before. When
they first came out, I am pretty sure that it ALL expired when students
graduated, unless they continued paying. Additionally, they are allowed
to print now. Of course, any piece of digital media will expire
eventually. What are the students going to use to read the DVD, 20
years from now? Will it run on latest operating system? Will a DVD
drive exist that it economically feasible to access? These problems
would not exist with textbooks, obviously.
Ruben could probably say lots and lots and lots about this, but I don't
know that it all needs to be said over again. I just wanted to point
out the article.
